Electronic meters with communication interfaces provide an opportunity to create new automatic accounting systems, e.g. using the modern communication and information technology, the accounting data is collected by automatic counters. Data from the meters is collected and transmitted by using different data transmission technologies: GSM / GPRS, PSTN, LAN / WLAN / Internet, radio (RF). This provides an opportunity to see a snapshot of electricity generation, historical data, equipment, labor problems, to get warnings about them either by SMS or by e-mail.
